The organic products coming from outside of Canada certified according to the Canadian Standards and the terms of the equivalency agreement can also be exported to the USA without additional certification.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) have made the decision to also monitor Certification Bodies providing certification to the terms of the agreement outside of Canada for products exported to the US. Canada is sending to the National Organic Program (NOP) the list of CFIA accredited certification bodies providing certification to the terms of the agreements outside of Canada. The organic products coming from outside of Canada certified according to the Canadian Standards and the terms of the equivalency agreement can therefore be exported to the USA without additional certification.
