Certification Bodies Recognized by CARTV
In order to accept products coming from outside Québec and bearing a reserved designation on their packaging, their labelling or in advertising, display or presentation, the CARTV recognizes the conformity of bodies certifying products falling under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Québec regulations.
The following list contains all the certification bodies that have their certification program recognized for the agricultural and food products categories that are currently within the scope of the CARTV but are not included in the Canada Organic Regulations put into force since June 30, 2009 by the gouvernment of Canada.
Displayed in alphabetical order, this list is updated each time changes occur in a certification body profile. Any organization included in this list is well-known to administer a certification system of agricultural and food products which has either, been approved by a competent administrative authority of a country, state or province having jurisdiction in agriculture or, has been granted an accreditation such as ISO/IEC 65:1996 (EN 45011) by a competent body.

Identifying Reference(s)
The name of the certifier must appear on the product labels as well as on the commercial documents. Many certification bodies use different identification symbols that could be numeric or alphanumeric. In order to find the certifier that corresponds to an identification of this sort, the search function of your browser (Control F) can be used. If this search does not produce any results, it is imperative to contact the CAEQ before accepting the product.

Format: YYYY-MM-DD
Granting date of the program recognition of a certification body by the CARTV.
Products’ Categories
Agricultural and food products categories that can be object of certification by the mentioned certification body according to a specification manual with respect to organic production method.
Accepted Products’ Origin(s)
Indication of the geographic zones where the products certified by the body in mention may originate in order to have their sale legally authorized in the Quebec territory.
